Joining us as a Financial Accountant within our Corporate Finance team, you'll ensure accurate and robust accounting for Midland Heart, subsidiaries and Mutual companies. This is a varied yet structured role, offering you the opportunity to utilise your financial accounting skills, build strong relationships with business stakeholders and develop your leadership potential through development and mentorship of an Assistant Financial Accountant.
What you'll be doing
- Accounting for the Mutuals business area, including accounting for property sales, mortgages and taxation – Mutuals are unique Retirement Housing schemes with each one being their own legal entity and governed by their appointed committee.
- Coordinate and produce annual statutory accounts for each individual mutual company with differing year ends.
- Supporting month end / year end accounting for Midland Heart, subsidiaries and Mutual companies.
Our Ideal Candidate?
- Fully qualified Accountant status (e.g. ACA/ACCA/ACMA).
- Experience of producing, overseeing the preparation of and presenting Statutory Accounts, reconciliations and month end accounting.
- Proven ability to present financial information to a broad range of business stakeholder / non-financial audiences and influence positive outcomes.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word.
In this role, you can expect to work from our Birmingham, Bath Row office a minimum of 3 days per week, with 2 days working from home.
